Paul's fantastic demeanor and attitude has captured our attention. I've got to admit that I had never heard of him prior to this week. He's not a top tier PGA Tour player by any stretch but from what we have learned this week, he is a top tier human being and dad!
We were pulling for him to WIN IT ALL in this years PLAYERS Tournament but it just wasn't meant to be. I produced the following video early yesterday morning in his honor. Regardless of how well he performs on the golf course in the future, his performance in life is worthy of noting. Go get 'em, Paul... you've got style!

We had another fun day watching the top PGA Tour professionals practice for the 2008 PLAYERS Championship! The first round begins today. Weather predictions call for high temps in the upper 80's to low 90's with a bit of seabreeze to keep fans cooled off a bit and to challenge the players.
For many adults (men especially), a week of watching PGA Tour professionals play the game is like Christmas is to a child - just exciting! Here is our Music Video presentation of yesterday's final practice round; hope you enjoy!
We had another wonderfully fun day at the Players Championship, yesterday. Many more players were out as well as larger galleries which adds much to the overall excitement of the event. The weather was magnificent - warm but with a nice sea breeze that blew almost continuously.
One of the highlights of the day was in watching the interaction of the pros with their caddies. This was especially fun to watch on the famous 17th Island Hole as most of the caddies took their turns at hitting the green. (From the interaction between players and caddies, I'd venture a guess that there may have been a bit of 'friendly wagering' going on!?)
Another highlight was meeting up with my daughter at the 9th green. She went with a group of friends so we weren't sure if we'd see her or not. She was chasing down Jim Furyk trying to get his autograph. Not that she is a fan of his but she has been trying in vain to get his autograph for a few years.
It started a couple of years ago when she was getting autographs from various players and he came along. He signed for the person next to her... then skipped right over her outstretched hands and signed the next persons. She ran into him again later that day and the exact same thing happened.
Well, as a teenage girl who is NOT to be ignored, it became a challenge to her! But each and every time she met up with him, he somehow got away without her getting an autograph. A couple of times he was moving in her direction, signing as he walked and suddenly turned in another direction just prior to signing for her.
Well, yesterday was her day... she managed to get the elusive autograph and just 'by chance' I was right there with my camera and was able to get a picture of the event. Not that this is any monumental event in her life... just one for amusement!

Our youngest daughter is home from college for the week. She and her boyfriend accompanied us to the first day Practice Round of the PLAYERS Championship and we all had a blast!
The weather was perfect, the company was delightful and the course is beautifully manicured and ready to welcome the strongest field in golf for a week of exciting PGA Tour play.
Being day one, there weren't a lot of the top pros available to watch but we had a marvelous time anyway and look forward to getting up close and personal today and tomorrow. I think the practice rounds are every bit as much fun as the tournament itself because the players are relaxed and having fun with the gallery.

So, the greatest golfer in the world is recovering from surgery and won't be participating this week in the PLAYERS Championship at Sawgrass... and I don't care!
Don't get me wrong. Tiger is without question one of the best, if not 'the best' golfer to have ever played the game. I watch his skillful execution of the game with awe and utter respect.
However, he is but one of many incredible players of the game that I enjoy watching and, in fact, he doesn't have the best track record on the magnificent TPC at Sawgrass course. With the strongest field in golf at center stage, entertainment will not be lacking!
I intend to have a blast this week as I enjoy the sun, fun, and relaxation that comes with attending one of the world's finest sporting events. This will be Susan's first time at a PGA event so that will make it all the more fun for me!
